The city of Red Cloud currently offers new businesses a rebate of 1/2 of their electric bill for the 1st year they are in business.
Community Development Assistance Act - The city of Red Cloud may apply to the Nebraska Department of Economic Development to become qualified to award tax credits to eligible contributors. Upon approval of a project by the Department, Red Cloud can award a state tax credit to a business, corporation, insurance firm or financial institution contributing to the project of up to 40 percent of the value of a contribution up to $25,000. Qualifying projects include, employment training, human and medical services, physical facility and neighborhood development services, recreational and educational activities, and crime prevention.
Nebraska Tax Incentive Programs - Businesses may receive a direct refund of sales and uses taxes paid on qualified property used in connection with the project, earn investment credit on qualified property, and earn credit on employment growth.

The economic development committee would be happy to work with you and your business to utilize state legislative bills aimed at tax incentive programs, Community Development Block Grants and other resources to help alleviate start-up costs or to improve your business.
