The Red Cloud Historic Preservation Commission was formed through Ordinance 540 creating a Certified Local Government.

Grant History

• 2003: Five grants totaling $4,302.48 were awarded to homes listed on the National
Registry for Historic Preservation.
• 2005/2006: Pocket Guide to Historic Red Cloud was published.
• 2006: Forty-five sites were added to the Red Cloud Historic Preservation local registry.
• 2007: Five grants totaling $4000.00 were awarded to homes listed on the local
Historic Registry for Historic Preservation.
• 2008: Five grants totaling $4000.00 were awarded to homes listed on the local
Historic Registry for Historic Preservation.
• 2009: Five grants totaling $4000.00 were awarded to homes listed on the local
Historic Registry for Historic Preservation, Four sites were added to the Red Cloud Historic Preservation local registry, two hundred-five Design Guidelines for Residential Historic Districts were reprinted, and one hundred Design Guidelines for Main Street Historic District were reprinted
