Webster County Resources Foundation

Founded in 1972 when the old Soil and Water Conservation District dissolved.  The board consists of any individual that has served as a Soil and Water District director or any person that has/or is on the Natural Resources District board.

This group has some funds with which to work.  They are willing to put money towards any project that is of natural resources concern.  Some of the projects that they have assisted with in Webster County include:

  • Awarded 106 scholarships to graduating seniors that go on to college (agriculture related).

  • Tree plantings in parks, schools, and other public properties

  • Provide funding for windbreak planting incentive

  • Purchase of a Buffalo No-till Planter to loan out to county residents

  • Purchase of a water tank for watering trees and to use for controlled range burns

  • Purchase of fire fighting equipment for controlled range burns

  • Native Prairie Identification plots at the Willa Cather railroad depot

  • Purchase of grass seed for seeding baseball fields and other public areas

  • Provide legume seed for CRP grass enhancement

  • County fair conservation awards

In addition, this Foundation has supported numerous events and provided technical assistance when requested.
